Essential Laboratory Analysis Tool

The polarimeter is indispensable in laboratories for its ability to analyze optically active substances such as sugars, organic compounds, and pharmaceuticals. Its stainless steel construction offers reliability and durability, making it suitable for daily use in academic, industrial, and quality control settings. The portable 25 kg design allows for effortless relocation across different laboratory environments without compromising measurement stability.

Accurate Results with Sodium Lamp Illumination

Utilizing a sodium lamp light source, the polarimeter ensures optimal wavelength consistency for the precise measurement of optical rotation. The manual operation grants users direct control over calibration and testing processes, enabling highly accurate and reproducible results. This is especially helpful when confirming the purity or concentration of solutions in research or quality assurance applications.

FAQs of Polarimeter:

Q: How do I use the polarimeter for laboratory measurements?

A: To use the polarimeter, first ensure it is clean and properly set up on a stable work surface. Insert your sample into the sample tube, position the tube in the instrument, and activate the sodium lamp. Manually rotate the analyzer until the field of view displays uniform brightness. The measured angle indicates the optical rotation caused by your sample.

Q: What types of substances can be analyzed with this polarimeter?

A: This polarimeter is suitable for analyzing any optically active substance, including various sugars, organic acids, amino acids, essential oils, and pharmaceutical compounds. It is widely used in chemical laboratories, research institutions, and quality control testing environments.

Q: When should I calibrate or maintain the polarimeter?

A: Calibration should be performed regularly, especially before critical measurements or after transporting the unit. Maintenance involves cleaning the sample tubes and optical components and checking the sodium lamp for reliable light output. Follow manufacturer guidelines for best results.

Q: Where is the polarimeter typically used?

A: The polarimeter finds applications in academic laboratories, pharmaceutical production facilities, food and beverage quality control labs, and research and development environments. Its portability allows for use in varied laboratory settings.

Q: What process does the polarimeter use to determine optical activity?

A: The polarimeter passes polarized light from a sodium lamp through the sample, then measures the angle at which the plane of polarization is rotated. The optical rotation value helps determine substance identity, purity, or concentration.

Q: What are the key benefits of using a stainless steel polarimeter?

A: Stainless steel construction offers high corrosion resistance, superior durability, and easy cleaning, making the instrument suitable for repeated lab use and a wide range of sample types. Its material ensures longevity and consistent accuracy.
